"Training implies putting skills into people, when actually we should be developing
people from the inside out beyond these skills"

Effective professional development programs are coordinated, coherent, integrated, and focused on the vision of the institution. Recent national attention to excellence in education has highlighted the issues of teacher competence, quality learning, and educational reforms. Work on standards and rapidly changing technologies, as well as expanding content and pedagogical knowledge bases makes the profession of teaching more demanding and challenging.
Professional Development Programs at HITEC are strategy focused. Director Academics has built an active participatory trio linking the management the faculty and the students in developing, promoting, and implementing professional development programs in educational leadership and teaching methodologies for Principals and teachers.
At HITEC professional development begins by examining student learning needs and identifying the teacher knowledge and skills required to address those learning needs. Programs are designed for Principals and teachers. These include the following categories:

  1. Educational Leadership Programme
  2. Teacher Development Programme
  3. Mentoring Programme
  4. Enrichment Programme

The vision and effort of setting a Professional Development Center in HITEC is not limited to only HITEC it is designed as a Center offering services to all Education Institutions of Pakistan.

Continuous Professional Development Model

There are many possible sources of CPD, as shown in the diagram above. Some forms of CPD may encompass elements from more than one of these sources.
HITEC works on this model of CPD . Organizations and Resource persons are identified and partnerships developed for training. International agencies, examination boards, Donor groups like USAID, DFID , UNDP etc and Ministry of Education are taken on Board for training activities.
